Bridge Equipment

Let us put it up front: we’ve never intended to sell bridge equipment. However, it pains us to see other student clubs or corporate clubs, paying a huge premium to purchase equipment from the only local source that they know (a non-profit organisation that marks up the prices by 2-3x). Hence, we’ve previously offered a helping hand to some of these clubs, to help them order the products from the suppliers overseas, and charging only a tiny fee to compensate the effort that we’ve spent.

We aren’t holding any stock for the item, just merely offering a purchase on-behalf service from Taobao (you can get it from Taobao by yourself too, links are attached!). With that mentioned, do expect 3-4 weeks lead time if you want us to purchase on your behalf!

We do hope that the local non-profit organisation will finally adjust their price to reflect their non-profit status. When the time comes, we’ll stop providing this service!

1) Bidding Boxes
Price at local non-profit organisation: $50 for set of 4 with plastic-coated paper inserts.
Price on Taobao: ~$22 for set of 4 with plastic inserts (higher quality, more durable)
Price at xmmbridge: $30 for set of 4 with plastic inserts (markup for overseas shipping and GST)

2) Boards
Price at local non-profit organisation: $320 for set of 32 (brand new), inclusive of cards
Price on Taobao: ~$74 for set of 32 boards, ~$32 for 32 decks of brand new cards
Price at xmmbridge: $160 for set of 32, inclusive of brand new cards (markup for overseas shipping and GST)

3) Cards
Price at local non-profit organisation: $3 (brand new), $1 (used)
Price on Taobao: ~$1 per deck of card
Price at xmmbridge: $1.50 per deck of cards (markup for overseas shipping and GST)
